"God be merciful to us and bless us, and cause His face to shine upon us, that Your way may be known on earth, Your salvation among all nations. Let the peoples praise You, O God; let all the peoples praise You." Psalm 67:1-3
One of the tricks of our adversary, Satan, is to discourage us from telling of God's goodness. When God blesses us, He wants us to make known His deeds of kindness. That way He receives glory when others praise Him with us for His goodness. Faith comes by hearing the word of God. (Romans 10:17) Our testimony produces overcoming faith in the hearers.
"And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death." Revelation 12:11
"For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world - our faith." 1 John 5:4
Satan's trick is to lie to us, telling us when we tell of God's goodness to us, we are putting our business in the street. The purpose of this lie is to rob God of the glory and praise that is rightfully His. How would we feel if after providing goods or services to others, we were robbed of our paycheck? Praise to God is His paycheck from us for what He has done for us.
A New Attitude
"If indeed you have heard Him and have been taught by Him, as the truth is in Jesus: that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness." Ephesians 4:21-24
God forbid that we rob Him of the glory and praise that is rightfully His. What we need is a new attitude. We get this new attitude by putting on the new man, telling of the goodness of God. The more we tell, the more God will do for us. Why? Because everything He does for us, we tell. Telling of God's goodness is where it's at.
"For whoever has, to him more will be given; but whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him." Mark 4:25
If we will give God His glory, we will see a change in our attitude and in our outlook of life in general.
"...Is a lamp brought to be put under a basket or under a bed? Is it not to be set on a lampstand? For there is nothing hidden which will not be made revealed, nor has anything been kept secret but that it should come to light. If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear." Mark 4:21-23
